INTRODUCTION

NED University of Engineering & Technology is among the oldest institution of engineering education in Pakistan. It is the first higher education public sector engineering institution, who realised the importance of quality management and procedures in engineering education. With this vision, NED University opted for ISO-9001 certification in 1998 and finally get certified in 2002. NED University is about to complete a decade of providing engineering education, following rigorous standardised quality management procedures, to meet the satisfaction of their customers (i.e. students in particular and industry in general).

After the advent of Quality Assurance Agency of Higher Education Commission (QAA HEC), NED University of Engineering & Technology also adopted their requirements related to quality in education along with already in practice ISO quality management system.

VISION, MISSION AND QEC OBJECTIVES

Vision:

To develop NED University of Engineering and Technology (NED UET) as a World Class institution of higher education and research and development in Engineering and relevant fields by employing best quality assurance measures and contribute effectively in building-up the required indigenous technical capabilities according to the national requirements.

Mission:

Strive for achieving highest international standards of engineering education and research at NED UET by:
• Developing / implementing Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
• Capacity building of the faculty / staff.
• Assessing / auditing the education and research processes, and
• Reviewing the progress for enhancement of the quality of education.

QEC Objectives:

QEC is responsible for the review of quality standards by auditing academic standards and the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area. The core objectives of QEC are:

• To ensure quality education at the University under the umbrella of Quality Assurance Agency of Higher Education Commission (QAA HEC).
• To review quality standards and the quality of teaching & learning in each subject area.
• To ensure the accomplishment of the requirements of Accreditation Councils and Regulatory Bodies.
• To ensure that the quality and standards of the award of degrees are of world class.
