Membership Categories for ICOMOS Pakistan

According to its existing Statutes, ICOMOS Pakistan has four membership categories are

• Founder members
• Institutional Members
• Individual Members
• Honorary Members

An additional membership category of
• Young Professionals was introduced after Xi’an General Assembly of ICOMOS in 2005, offered to professionals aged 30 years or below.

• Acknowledging the need for developing awareness regarding heritage issues among the younger generations another category of ‘student members’ has been proposed and approved in the General Body meeting of ICOMOS Pakistan in September 2008, with a nominal one-time membership fee. This category of membership will be open to all students of any relevant fields related to cultural heritage (students from post-graduate programs will not be considered under this category).

• All information received by the secretariat regarding conferences, workshops, scholarships and grants, training programs and other such activities is disseminated to all categories of ICOMOS Pakistan members.

• Conservation professionals and experts including architects, town planners, historians, archaeologists, ethnologists or archivists, and other individuals interested in supporting the aims and objective of ICOMOS are encouraged to become members to reinforce this network and fulfill its objectives. ICOMOS offers its members many opportunities and privileges internationally including special discounts on publications, priority access to documentation centers and libraries of UNESCO, ICCROM and ICOMOS, and often free or discounted entrance to many sites and museums all over the world through the membership card.
