Ms. Huma Zia is currently working as an Assistant Professor at CIS Department of NED University. She has graduated from the same department with distinction and has completed her Masters in Computer systems engineering with major in "Computer Architecture and System Design". She has an experience of about 6 years of working in both industry and teaching.
She has worked in Air Weapons Complex for about four and a half years as Assistant Manager. She was involved with Design and development of various Embedded and Hardware Systems based on various Motorola and ARM microcontrollers. She was also involved with conducting training sessions for these projects. She has worked with various Simulation and Design tools including Code Warrior, LAB View, MatLab, OrCad Capture CIS, Protel, Electronic Work–bench, Multisim, MS–Visio and MS Project 2000.

Teaching Experience

Since joining NED University in 2010, She has taught various courses in under graduate and postgraduate program, which include:

  • Microprocessor Theory and Application
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • Data Structures & Algorithm
  • Introduction to Programming System Design

Research Interests/Activities

  • Her research interest lies in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks and Wearable Computing. She co–conducted a tutorial on the topic of "Pervasive Computing: Vision and Future Challenges" in the International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT), Islamabad, Pakistan, held on December 21 – 23, 2010.
