Faculty of Electronic and Telecommunications Department organized an informative session on Final Year Projects for the upcoming final year batch on June 18, 2011.

The basic purpose of this session was to introduce the students of the FYP procedures and requirements and enlighten them about different FYP ideas, areas of expertise of various internal advisers and resources available at NED UET. In the fully packed CIS Lecture Hall, the session started at 10:00 AM with the effective presentation of Ms. Amna Shabbir, Class Advisor of B.E. She informed the students about FYP selection procedure and grading policy at the department.

Next, some motivating and captivating words by Dr. Shoaib Zaidi, Chairman, invited the students to open their minds and broaden the horizons of their vision. Faculty members, Mr. Yawar Rehman and Mr. Abdul Raheem Qureshi informed students about possible FYPs and job prospects in their respective areas of expertise. Special talks were delivered by two of our alumni, Mr. Qaseem Ali, Batch 2003-04, and Ms. Sana Siddiqui, Batch 2006-07, who informed the students about current job scenarios and industry demands.

Two current final year groups from Electronic & Telecommunications Department working on MIMO systems and Android applications respectively shared their experiences with their juniors emphasizing on the effectiveness of the current FYP process. Overall, it was a very edifying session that has provided guidelines for students to choose their FYPs wisely and how to execute them with high motivation.
