  • Development Engineer,   Mahomed Ebrahim and Co. (1953) Ltd. (MECO, SHARP), Karachi-28, Pakistan,  January 83 till August 1983.

  •  Fabrication Engineer,  M/S Fabrication, Karachi-31, Pakistan, November 1981 till December 1982.

  Teaching Experience
  • Civilian Instructor (Part Time), Pakistan Naval Engineering College (PNS Jauhar), Karachi. 1983 to July 1985.  The assignment was to present lectures and to conduct practicals in the following subjects. Solid Mechanics, Stress  Analysis, Production Process & Metrology, Fluid Dynamics and Lubrication.

  • Faculty Member Petroman, Computer Science Department, Karachi, November 1984 to February, 1986. The job included designing and implementation of various computer and Engineering related courses as well  as presenting lectures on BASIC Language, System Analysis and Design, Electronic Data Processing.

  • Lecturer Mechanical Engineering Department, NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, March 1986 September, 1991. During lectureship the subject for presentation were Engineering Mechanics,  Engineering Drawing and Design, I.C. Engines and Thermodynamics.

  • Assistant Professor Mechanical Engineering Department, NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi September 1991 till to date. The responsibilities include presentation of lectures  on the subject of  Thermal Sciences, like Thermodynamics, I.C. Engines as well as supervision and advisory services to the  final year research and design projects in the area of Energy, (Environmental Friendly and non Conventional) like  Solar, Wind, Photovoltaic Heat Transfer (Boilers, Heat Exchangers, Heat Pipes, Solar Collectors).

  • Also teaching M.Sc. classes since 1999 Renewable Energy and Energy Planning subject.

  Research Experience
  • Performance analysis of water filled Heat pipe (Thermosyphon) Temp range 60 C-150 C in the low range of Reynolds Numbers 5-50 for which standard data is not available and further analysis of its heat cut off mechanism.

  • Head of the Energy Group, Department of Engineering, University of Reading, Reading, U.K. Member of the working party on Heat Pipe Fluids Published with the name “Themopysical Properties of Heat Pipe working Fluids: operating Range 60 C and 300 C” By Engineering Science Data Unit-251-259 Regent Street, London WIR 7 Ad-1980.
