Overview
The Department of Polymer and Petrochemical Engineering is established with the aim to meet the growing demands of competent professional in the well established and rapidly emergent sector of the Polymer and Petrochemical Sector in the Industry. It is the aim of the Department to produce highly skilled professional in the field of Polymer and Petrochemical Engineering. Polymer and Petrochemical Industry is fueling the world trade and economy.
The scenario prevailing in Pakistan is similar to that on the world scale and is providing countless opportunities to qualified professional. With billions of rupees being injected in the Polymer and Petrochemical Industry of Pakistan, very bright and growth oriented future is ensured for the graduates.
In the four year undergraduate program the students will learn the application of engineering and scientific knowledge in the field of Polymer and Petrochemical Engineering which will enable them to understand and optimize the major processes related to the field. The main focus of of the study program will be the core technical operation in the Polymer Industries and in the Petrochemical Sector in refineries such as material handling, fluid flow, head transfer ,filtration, drying, evaporation, absorption, distillation, condensation, chemical and biochemical reaction in reactors etc.
Besides the technical knowledge the engineers are also equipped with modern management skills during the course of studies in-line with the current demands of industry. The student exposure to the practical field is maximized by frequent visits and internship thanks to the strong collaboration between the Universities and the Industries Sector in Pakistan.
Provided the highly qualified faculty, exposure to the most recent and updated knowledge in the field, practical exposure to the industry, superior management skills and the most advance study aids there is no doubt that the student of this department will be extremely competent and skilled professional on a global scale.
