ppl academic chair

The foremost E&P company of the country, Pakistan Petroleum Limited has offered an academic chair to the department.

Dr Syed Mohammad Tariq joined Department of Petroleum Engineering as Professor on PPL Chair on 24th August, 2016. Dr Tariq has a Ph. D. in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and has ~40 years of Petroleum Industry experience including senior technical and management positions in ExxonMobil. He is author of more than 50 technical papers and is co-author of SPE's monograph on Perforating. He holds a US patent for the MDT tool for reservoir testing and is author of the widely used semi-analytical Karakas and Tariq's correlation for estimation of productivity of perforated completions.

This would help in further strengthening the quality of the program being offered by the Department as well as laying strong footing for future research activities.
