INTER DEPARTMENTAL SPORTS

Along with studies the sports activities were always at the peak in NED UNIVERSITY, in which many students participate. These activities are organized by CSA SPORTS SECTION.

In the last calendar year Mechanical Engineering department was the leading scorer on the points table with a total of 146 points followed by Electrical and CIVIL DEPARTMENT with 110 and 103 points respectively.

BOYS EVENTS:
Mechanical and Textile Engineering department seems to be at the most athletic boys of the University, who scored 43 and 31 points respectively for their home in Athletics. In swimming ME were the winner with 08 medals and chased by EE with 07 medals.

GIRLS EVENTS:
Most athletic girls of the university come from CSIT and CIS department who won 11 and 07 medals respectively.

INTER UNIVERSITY SPORTS

The brief detail of some sports events held in NED University are given below:

CRICKET:
NEDUET cricket team won the zonal competition after defeating Mehran University by 19 runs, held at UBL sports complex organized by NEDUET.
Syed Rizwan ul Hasan of NED represented HEC team in Cricket Patrons Trophy.

HOCKEY:
This year NED University has won the Zonal competition, held at Mehran University Jmashoro Sindh.

BASKETBALL:
NED University Basket ball team won the Zonal competition by defeating GREENWHICH University [who was the winner of last four years].

BADMINTON [BOYS]:
NED remained the runner up in its zonal competition organized by Mehran University Jmashoro Sindh from 10th March 2009.

ATHLETICS [GIRLS]:
NED won silver and bronze medals in Triple Jump and High Jump respectively.
Omema Urooj of Electrical department of University has won these medals and also secured 4th position in Long Jump.
