Qirat, Naat and Seerat-Un-Nabi (S.A.W.W) Competition

Introduction
A devout and pious ambiance was built up at the NED University auditorium on the occasion of the Qirat, Naat and Seerat-un-Nabi (s.a.w.w) competition organized by the Debating society headed by Ms.Nausheen Kidwai. The event was structured efficiently and created a mystical atmosphere. It was an exceptional effort on behalf of the organizers to arrange this dignified competition in which the students of various departments participated enthusiastically.
Event Details
The competition was held on 9th February at the university auditorium between 1:45 to 3:45 pm. Students from different departments participated in the event which comprised of three categories namely Qirat, Naat and Seerat-un-Nabi (s.a.w.w).
The Qirat participants recited the verses from the divine book, the Holy Quran which is truly a guide for mankind, while an exquisite endeavor was shown by the Naat participants that grabbed the attention of the audience by creating a miraculous aura. Seerat-un-Nabi (s.a.w.w) participants showcased the true essence of Islam by emphasizing upon the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his Sunnah, they also shed light upon the fact that success in this world and the world hereafter is only possible through following the Prophet’s (s.a.w.w) footsteps.
Winners
The students participated devotedly while the audience maintained the decorum of the event by giving due attention to all the participants.
The winners in the category of Qirat were Muhammad Uzair Yousuf (Third year, Mechanical), Ahmed Syed (Second year, Electrical) and Hafiz Mustufa-ud-Din Sheikh (Second year, Petroleum)
Seerat-un-Nabi speech winners were Muhammad Uzair Yousuf (Third year Mechanical), Sajida Qayyum (Third year, Mechanical) and Abdul Wahab Malik (Final year, Mechanical).
In the Naat category, Tanzeela Anis (Third year Chemical), Shan ul Haq Rehmani (Second year, Electrical) and Fahwa Mansoor (Third year Mechanical) were declared the winners.
Guests
The dean faculty of Information Sciences and Humanities, Professor Dr.Mehmood Khan Pathan was the Chief guest while Dr.Abdul Hai Madini (Associate Professor Humanities Dept), Dr.Farooq Hassan (Assistant Professor Humanities Dept) and Dr.Muhammad Bilal Usmani(Assistant Professor Humanities Dept) were the guests of honor.
Conclusion
The ostentatious competition was celebrated in the true spirit of Islam and is one of the most awaited events amongst all the events held round the year at NED. The competition ended successfully, the participants, audience and the guests remained clutched in the tranquility and piousness of the atmosphere till the end.
