Soccer Maestros bring the cup home

Introduction
The TIP OLYMPID, an event that grasps the attention of sportsmen from all the universities of Karachi, is annually held in the premises of the Textile Institute of Pakistan.
Event details
This year, it began on 24th February 2012. Teams from IQRA University,BIZTEK, NUST, AKU, NEDUET, TIP, BAHRIA University and DAWOOD College of Engineering and Technology, participated in the event.
Khurram Shakeel (Final Year, Automotive Engineering Department), was the captain of the team that represented NEDUET and Muhammad Bilal Zahid (Final Year, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering) was his deputy.
Walkover- a direct ticket to the semifinals
NEDUET was scheduled to play their first match on 24th February 2012, against BahriaUniversity. However, NEDUET got a walkover. Thus a place was secured for them in the semifinal.
Semifinal & the Finals
The semifinal match was held on 26th February 2012 between NEDUET and AKU GREEN. The match was indeed a very interesting one, but NEDUET convincingly proved to be the better team. Jamshed successfully sent the ball two times into the nets, helping the team NEDto win the match with a score of 2-0 and gladly sail into the final. Interestingly, the final was held on the same day. Therefore, theteam plucked up courage and revitalized themselves to face AKU WHITE in the final match. Hereagain, NEDUET undoubtedly, proved to be the better team. They won the tournament with a score of 2-0. Areeb (Third year, Electical), and Ahmar (First year, Material), were the two heroes of this match with one goal each to their credit.
Conclusion
The matches were followed by lunch for the teams and a presentation ceremony where medals were awarded to the winner and runner-up teams. It was an honor for the NEDUET footballteam, to win yet another tournament and bring home the trophy.
