LPS Insight and Scribe Introduction

Introduction

The Literary & Publication Society (LPS) is one of the seven societies functioning under the Department of Controller Students' Affairs (CSA). LPS Society is an official platform It is headed by Dr.Sajida Zaki, Associate Professor from the Department of Humanities at NED University of Engineering and Technology. Its objective is to promote and encourage literary and intellectual activities such as debating, essay-writing and poetry and prose recital competitions and provide a platform through which students can showcase their talents. LPS played a vital role in organizing the Spring Festival earlier this year. It also provides a window through which NEDians and the rest of the world can stay up to date with the happenings at NED. LPS achieves the above objective through its two popular publications; Scribe - NED's official Newsletter and INSIGHT - NED's official E-zine.

Scribe

Life at NED is very hasty. With all the curricular and extra-curricular activities constantly going on, it's impossible to keep up and one often feels that he or she is sinking into quicksand. Scribe is an annal designed to provide you an overview of all the major news, events and happenings of an academic year at NEDUET.
Each year, Dr.Sajida Zaki filters out the best of the best amongst the students for the editorial, design, and reporting committees and a Chief Editor is elected. The new members work round the clock to gather, compile, edit and deliver the final product; Scribe.
After three remarkable editions, Scribe 2011 aims to meet up with its readers' expectations and bring forward another prolific edition packed with exciting events!

Insight

INSIGHT – the first official e-zine of NED University of Engineering & Technology is a result of constructive utilization of modern technology. In this cyber-age, forums that provide quick access to information are considered a crucial characteristic of competent organizations. INSIGHT is an effort to present a means through which Alumni, faculty members and students (both current and prospective) can digitally access NED from any remote location via web. This e-zine offers a variety of sections to the viewers and readers of varied interests and types. Sections include Faculty write-ups, Student write-ups, Poetry, Photography, Campus humor, News and Events coverage, Artists' corner etc.

Due to the variety of content INSIGHT offers to its readers, three Associate Editors, under the Chief Editor Dr. Sajida Zaki, are designated for respective sections.
