Abstract:
This paper presents the details of studies which were carried out for the approximation of hyperbolic arcs. Numerical schemes were developed to approximate these curves using famous C-Bézier curve. The C-Bézier curve has four control points. These control points were evaluated by matching end points and end unit tangents of two curves. Two free parameters were fixed by matching two end curvatures of C-Bézier curve and hyperbolic curves. Proposed approximation scheme yields smaller absolute radius error compared to the existing approximation schemes.
