Abstract:
The major contributors of noise in Pakistan and other developing countries is the road traffic. Noise levels in major urban centres of Pakistan varies from 67 to 92 dBA. Areas which exceed 84 dBA have been identified. Noise levels of individual vehicles has been investigated. Four feasible approaches to control the noise by road traffic in developing countries have been discussed.
