Abstract:
A design-with-feature approach has been employed far a high-level representation of mechanical assemblies. Design features, from an assembly viewpoint, have been shown in certain case, to be different from manufacturing features. Pans have been modelled in terms of basic-bodies and features. Computer implementation of the system has been, achieved using a solid model/in g software that incorporates a built-in C-language compiler. Some interesting problems regarding feature-based product representation have been investigated.
