Categories for ICOMOS Pakistan
According to its existing Statutes, ICOMOS
Pakistan has four membership categories are
• Founder members
• Institutional Members
• Individual Members
• Honorary Members
An additional membership category of
• Young Professionals was introduced after Xi’an
General Assembly of ICOMOS in 2005, offered to professionals
aged 30 years or below.
• Acknowledging the need for developing
awareness regarding heritage issues among the younger generations
another category of ‘student members’ has been
proposed and approved in the General Body meeting of ICOMOS
Pakistan in September 2008, with a nominal one-time membership
fee. This category of membership will be open to all students
of any relevant fields related to cultural heritage (students
from post-graduate programs will not be considered under this
category).
• All information received by the secretariat
regarding conferences, workshops, scholarships and grants,
training programs and other such activities is disseminated
to all categories of ICOMOS Pakistan members.
• Conservation professionals and experts
including architects, town planners, historians, archaeologists,
ethnologists or archivists, and other individuals interested
in supporting the aims and objective of ICOMOS are encouraged
to become members to reinforce this network and fulfill its
objectives. ICOMOS offers its members many opportunities and
privileges internationally including special discounts on
publications, priority access to documentation centers and
libraries of UNESCO, ICCROM and ICOMOS, and often free or
discounted entrance to many sites and museums all over the
world through the membership card.
