I am honoured and privileged to post this message as the Dean Faculty of Architecture and Sciences (ASC) of NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. This faculty has been created after merging the previously existing Faculties of Architecture and Management Sciences and Information, Sciences and Humanities. With the new adjustments, the present faculty includes Departments of Architecture & Planning; Economics and Management Sciences; Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Linguistics & Allied Studies and Essential Studies. All the departments are well initiated in offering undergraduate and post graduate / doctoral programmes. A very capable body of faculty members, research and administrative staff comprise the actual strength of the faculty. After every defined interval, an enthusiastic and academically curious body of students join the various programmes. The teaching departments regularly organize conferences, seminars symposia, colloquia and other academic events to stretch out platforms for mutual learning and growth.
We have a very effective collaboration with academic institutions and research organisations from across the globe. Many joint research projects and publications have emanated from these fruitful associations. The faculty has produced a substantial number of graduates, who are contributing towards the economic growth social & cultural development and prosperity of not only Karachi and Pakistan but many countries overseas. Many of the graduates eagerly enrol for a higher degree at local and overseas universities.
We look forward to linking up with academia, industry and consulting organisations for professional collaboration and academic joint ventures. I hope that this faculty shall make NED and the nation proud.
